About Lynn Vocational Technical Institute’s Chapter of SkillsUSA

Working in tandem with the mission of SkillsUSA, Lynn Tech’s chapter of SkillsUSA brings the mission and program of work to life by focusing on centering school and community awareness on the importance of career and technical education. Our chapter aims to serve the community by highlighting SkillsUSA, CTE programs, and engendering high-level service projects to support the City of Lynn and beyond. Over the last ten years, our chapter has focused on linking all three of the major components of SkillsUSA (championships, leadership, and service) by working directly with the community in areas that need service. As a result, our chapter has received local, state, and national recognition for our efforts. Through our service projects, we not only apply the tenets of SkillsUSA, but we also aim to achieve the Core Values of the LPS.

Leadership

Establish interpersonal relationships, individual and team development through chapter operations, leadership competitions and individualized growth plans.

SkillsUSA Championships Committee

Participation in career exploration, planning and work-based learning opportunities including the SkillsUSA Championships.

Fundraising

Develop personal financial literacy and entrepreneurship skills through relevant work experience, project management and chapter fundraising.

Community-Service

Assess community needs, identify services and employ skills to meet needs that develop long-lasting partnerships.

Social

Gather students to a fun event designed by you. Board games, video games, or simple hangouts! Food is also a choice, its up to you.

Recruitment

Engage current and former members, parents, advisory committees, administrators, faculty and business and industry partners in SkillsUSA chapter and classroom activities.
